Day 5 Raw, Still Loving it

Ok, I'm not even going to talk about what I had for dinner last night. Let's just say it involved to0 much onion, along with other raw veggies, and too much balsamic in my dressing. Blah. The onions did not sit well.
Note to self: Lay off the raw onions!
This morning I had some fresh pear juice mixed with flax seed. I'm still keeping my water intake up. For lunch, I had sliced zuccini with raw tahini and some feta on top. It is soooo delicious. The tahini acts like a glue and really makes the feta stick. On the side, I had some assorted olives and some sundried tomatoes.
Weight is still the same.
I'm trying to ease up on the carrots/carrot juice due to the high sugar content.
Tonight, I plan on having my usual salad along with some cucumber/celery juice.
Dh has made a pact with some co-workers to loose 20-30lbs in the next couple months. They are suppose to be watching each other.
While he's been a way he has stuck to salads, salmon, and shrimp. Not a bad start for him.

Day 4 Raw

I had a really crappy sleep last night. I heard my house alarm beeping at about 5 am and started freaking that someone was breaking in! Dh is away on business. It turns out the power went out (no storm outside), which scared me even more, as I thought someone cut the power to bypass the alarm and break-in. Turns out, the whole street was out. Still, I couldn't go back to sleep until an hour later when the power finally kicked back in and the alarm was up and running.
This morning I woke up and had a couple of dates and a glass of water. Around 10 am, I finally got around to making my carrot apple juice. I remembered to add the flaxseed powder today. I also took 1billion dose of pro biotics, which I know isn't enough, but I didn't have anything stronger.
About half hour later, I finally pooped, after 3 days! It was formed, but very soft, with these large, green pellets in it. I googled it and came across some pictures of gallstones, (I have had gall bladder pain for about a year) which looked like what was in my poo, but I don't know. I guess I should wait and see if anything else comes out.
I ventured off to the grocery store to pick up some more stuff. Actually, I went for diapers, 115$ later....(dh is going to kill me). Picked up some more produce, olives, sundried tomatoes, trail mix(just nuts and dried fruits) some raw almond butter, raw tahini, feta.
This afternoon, I had some 2 celery sticks, one with the raw almond butter (R.A.B.) and one with the raw tahini (R.T.) 4 olives, and 3 sundried tomatoes. I want to make a different salad tonight. Not sure what though.

Day 2 and 3, Raw Foods

Day 2
Woke up this morning and made myself a class of carrot/apple juice. Had a glass of water after that and some M/C lemonade about an hour later.
In the late afternoon I munched on some baby carrots and sugar snap peas, along with another glass of lemonade.
I am in the bathroom peeing every 45 minutes. It's like whatever I drink is just going right through me.
No b/m yet. It's been over 24 hours.
For dinner, I had the same salad as the previous night. Very satisfying.
I made dhaal gosht for the kids. Couldn't even think of eating it.

Day 3 am
Today was pretty much the same as the last. Carrot/apple juice in the morning, water, and then lemonade all between the hours of 7am-10am. I've peed 4 times during that duration as well. Today I'm down another 2lbs, for a total of 4 since day 1 of the mastercleanse.
Last night, out of nowhere, I was hit with severe sciatic pain on the right side that radiated all the way down my leg. It kept me up for the first part of the night. I didn't want to take any meds though. This morning, strangely enough, it's a lot better.
Still no b/m and I'm getting worried. It's been over 48 hours.

Day 1, Raw Foods

I started off the day with 2 glasses of water, and then I made myself a fresh glass of apple juice. 3 red gala apples yielded about two 8 oz glasses of juice. I put in half a mango for the fibre. It was the most delicious apple juice I have ever had!
In the afternoon, I drank about 16 oz of water and had some celery sticks and carrots.
For a late lunch I made a salad with cucumbers, celery, and tomatoes. I mixed some lemon juice and olive oil with a bit of pepper for the dressing. Yummy.
I'm going to try to stop at the supermarket to get some more fresh produce. I saw a recipe for apple carrot juice on therawfoodsite.com. I'm going to make a spinach salad tonight with avocadoes, tangerines, pecans and a lemon, olive oil and maple syrup dressing.
This afternoon I went to the flea market which was filled with so many wonderful smells. However, when I saw the source of the smells (fried foods mostly), my stomach just turned. It seems criminal to even think about putting that kind of junk back in my body!
Gotta run to the store before it closes!

Day 3

Today was my d-day. The SWF was easy as ever this morning. Don't get me wrong, I still detest the crap, but it was a heck of a lot easier to get down. I headed over to a friends today, took my ingredients for potion with me and was fine all day. I was ready to eat however come the end of my 72 hours. I ended up having a miso soup, which was so flavourfull and a seeweed salad, which was listed as ok on therawfoodsite.com. I endulged a little however, and had a spicy salmon hand roll. BIG MISTAKE. Although it tasted wonderful, half way through it I felt sick and heavy.
I just made myself a cup of THE TEA, however, I think I am going to skip the flush in the morning. I have been sitting on the crapper way to much and my little H problem has flared up as a result and is a pain in the ass, literally. So , I need a break from the crapper. I think I'll keep drinking the lemonade, or lemolade, as my 7 year old calls it, and try eating only raw foods for the next few days. I don't think my stomach can handle anything else.
After having 4 kids, I don't think my butt was meant to last 10 days of constant crapping. Nonetheless, it's been great, and I feel great. Definitely more energy, more calmer. I haven't snapped at my kids nearly as much as I use to.
Most of all, with this beautiful weather, I really want to start back on my walking program, I.A.
I'll keep posting, so stay tuned...

Day 2: Trying to Get Over the Hump!

12:15pm
Left the house to run down to the local police headquarters to get by background check so I can volunteer at the kids school. I was extremely pleased to know that there was no cost! I was fully expecting to fork over the normal $45.00. Got out of there pretty quickly and headed over to dd school to drop her off. At this time, I realized I had forgotton my magic potion (lemonaide), so made a quick detour home to pick it up. Good thing, I had one small elimination to get out before my outing.

1:30-3:00pm
Got to the mall. Browsed around Sears, and decided to treat myself to a pair of pants. There was a beautiful pair of linen columbia pants with only one left in my size. Lucky for me, they were 30% off, and I happened to have a $25.00 credit on my sears card for over paying it. Yeah! I also picked up the rungs with clips so I can finally hang up my tapestry.
Headed over to Old Navy where I got all the kids new baseball caps and some new shirts for dd and ds1. I stopped in at the health food store where Z use to work and asked for the maple syrup. The young indian girl working there, immediately asks if I'm doing the Master Cleanse.
She then remarks how great and young I look to have two kids (I only had taken the two little ones with me). I reply that I actually have 4. Her eyes nearly popped out of her head! Then she starts yelling "You're hot!" and "Go girl!" Before I leave she asks how old I am, I relply 31, and again send into shock. I tell her to have a great day and leave.

4:34pm
I had a glass of the magic potion when I came home, which I deperately needed. I made the kids some samosas and french fries to snack on and am absolutely dying at the smell. Again, I'm not feeling anything you could remotely call hunger let alone starvation. But I am DYING to eat! I really want to call N or Z right now, who are on day 3 of the MC, but dh is on a conference call for the next half hour. I'm really trying not even to think about tomorrow. I'm really glad I only set a 3 day goal for myself. Now, I just need to get over this evening hump.
I also realized that I was not putting enough maple syrup in the concoction. It calls for 2 tbsp for 8-10oz of water. I was measuring it with a measuring spoon. I googled the measurement of one tbsp and it turns out it is 15mls! It made such a difference to the drink. The syrup is where the calories come from, which is essential. I am properly measuring everything now.

Day 2, An Early Start

5:00 am
I have been tossing for the past hour with stomach cramps. I finally can't ignore them anymore. I need to eliminate. So much better. Still watery. I climb back in bed, feeling utterly exhausted from my baby wining all night.

7:30am
I hear the kids up, someone is sitting on my head, another one is crying. Please let me sleep a little longer! Unfortunately, my bowels are on the same page as my kids and force me out of bed. I run to the bathroom for another elimination. Same thing. I then wash up and head downstairs to start the morning routine, breakfast, make lunch for my son, drive him and the neighbours kids to the bus stop. Before I leave, I mix my SW , and chug one glass. Today, I learned to chug. It wasn't as bad as the day before. When I return from the bus stop 3 minutes later, I chug the remaining two glasses. I manage to get it all down within 10 minutes today.

9:20am
I try to busy myself with the laundry to get rid of the nausea I'm feeling. It's not working. I'm thinking of skipping the SWF tomorrow and doing THE TEA in the morning, since it seems to be producing results for me. I ask my daughter for a stick of gum. I can't take the feeling. This may be cheating a bit, but I don't care. I'm not swallowing it. How many calories can a bit of gum juice have? My hubby just did the flush 15 minutes ago. I hear him running to the bathroom now. Yeah for him!

Day 1, Part 2

This evening has been really tough. I'm not feeling hunger, per say, but I want food. Even the sight of peanut-butter smeared on my baby's face, makes me want to run over to him and lick it off. Instead I settle for a kiss on his cheek. I had my last glass of lemonade around 6:30pm, and then decided to drink THE TEA, around 7pm. At 8:30-9:00pm, I started feeling really weak, really dying to eat something. My confidence was down, I started to think there is no way I can do this, I can't even make it to day 3! So I decided now was the time for my blueberry herbal tea with a tbsp of maple syrup. It was just what I needed to get me through. Still feeling a bit on the low side, I decided to go to bed at 10pm. Hopefully I'll feel better on day 2.

Day 1 of MC, part 1

8:00am
I finally rose out of bed with minor cramping I had been feeling through the night. I headed for the bathroom to wash up and put on some comfortable clothes in anticipation of many trips to the bathroom.

8:35am
I have the sensation to go eliminate. Something small and formed comes out.

8:50am
Back in the bathroom where the bm is considerably softer. The cramping has now subsided.

9:01am
I'm ready to start the flush. I put 32oz of spring water in a pretty ceramic picture with two teaspoons of uniodized sea salt. Oooh the taste! I gag with the first couple gulps which I try to chug. 15 minutes later I somehow make it through the first glass. I don't think I can continue. I call up a friend on day two of the MC for help. I feel like vomiting. She encourages me to drink the rest and suggests I dip my finger in the maple syrup and put it on my tongue between gulps.
It helps me to finish the glass. It is now 9:35 am.

10:39am
I'm lying in bed under the blankets with the shivers and feeling sick. I feel like I have a flu, but still no urges to eliminate. Did it work? I've been reading on the rawfoodsite.com that the flush didn't work for many people, who instead turn to the tea morning and evening instead.
I'm patiently (not) awaiting those urges, as right now, I am in no condition to drink the lemonade mixture. Lucky for me, I've only set an immediate goal of 3 days on the fast, which is the minimum. I'm off to wait for some action.

10:52am-10:57am
Here it comes! After 5 minutes eliminating a runny, watery substance, with bits of mucous (on the tissue, sorry, tmi), I feel MUCH better. The nausea has subsided, thank God!
I prepared my first glass of lemonade at 11:30 with 3 tbsp of lemon juice, freshly squeezed, 2 tbsp of Grade B maple syrup , a pinch of cayenne, and 10 oz of R.O. water. I put the ingredients in the blender to give it a good mix. Perhaps this is why I really didn't taste the cayenne.
It was refreshing, although I think I will go down to only 2 tbsp of lemon juice for the next glass.
Now I need to remember to drink my water in between!

12:15pm

Getting my daughter ready for school. I'm going to try to drink another glass of lemonade before I go. I also need to fill up the water bottles. Uh oh, I'm feeling gurgles....

2:11pm

Well those gurgles resulted in trip number 4 to the bathroom and a fair amount of the infamous 'butt pee'. I have now had a total of 28oz of the lemonade mixture. I am not feeling hungry at all, but am definitely feeling VERY lethargic. I hope to get in another 20 oz of lemonaide potion before I pick up the kids from school. Thank God I don't have to cook today. Tomorrow, I think I will send a couple kids out to my mil's house. It's going to be a rough weekend. Stay tuned...

Ingredients

4:00pm
After 35 minutes in the grocery store, all I managed to pick up was my lemon and limes.
I also came home with MAJOR lower abdominal cramps, which I can only attribute to ovulation. I hope they leave me by evening so I can start the tea.
I found a health food store 5 minutes away that carries the grade B maple syrup, the noniodized sea salt and a form of the smooth move tea. I hope they have the chocolate flavor.
Ok, off to get the kids ready for their Quran classes, during which, I will stop by the store.

6:00pm
Back from the store. I managed to pick up my Senna leaf tea, as well as a non-caffeinated blueberry organic tea, non-iodized sea salt and grade B maple syrup. I half heartedly ate my last supper and was actually thinking that it will be nice to give my body a break from food, and the indigestion and gas pains that follow eating.
After dinner, however, I did enjoy my last cup of tea with cream, which I'm hoping won't be missed too much.

It's now 8:30pm and I'm trying to decide when to drink the Senna leaf tea, and how long I need to steep it for. And so, the saga begins....

The Last Supper

I have just finished making my official last supper. A warm, delicious chicken salan, with basmati rice. Once I finish eating, I'm going to enjoy my last cup of tea with half/half and 1 tsp of sugar.
At 3pm today, I will set off to the grocery store to pick up the ingredients for the cleanse:
Fresh lemons
Grade B maple syrup (I hope the health food section at Fortinos carries it)
Smooth Moove tea
sea salt
cayenne pepper (which I already have, but wouldn't mind looking for an organic version)

After that, I will go to the water store and fill up a good 40 galloons of water.
We drink reverse osmosis, so I will have to check if that is ok vs spring water or distilled.

Better get ready, 24 minutes to go. I'm getting stoked!
